About this Event
How far they go depends on where they start
Streatham & Clapham Prep School & Nursery is the junior section of the highly regarded Streatham & Clapham High School and one of South London’s leading independent private schools. Part of the Girls’ Day School Trust family, it is at the forefront of girls’ education nationally. We are unrivalled in empowering our girls to discover, nurture and project their unique identities and character.
The SCPS approach looks after the whole girl
Streatham & Clapham Prep caters for pupils aged 3 to 11. Girls usually join us in Nursery, Reception or Year 3 but occasionally places become available in other year groups. We offer a bright and stimulating environment where learning is fun, each day is exciting and all are welcomed and valued. The classrooms and outdoor areas are spacious, bright and inviting, and have many exciting opportunities for pupils to develop their physical, social, emotional and intellectual skills through a wide range of activities.
The difference we make begins in the Nursery. You can tell a Streatham & Clapham Nursery girl because she is confident, independent and a determined risk-taker. Our 3-year-olds benefit from specialist teaching of French, Mandarin, Music and Computer Coding and they develop a love of learning that lasts a lifetime.
Ad Sapientiam Sine Metu
SCPS girls are never held back from their aspirations or abilities. Buoyant, confident and unafraid to fail, our girls represent the true meaning of our motto ‘towards wisdom, unafraid.’
Personalised learning for every child
We have a strong pastoral focus. We help them develop their own strengths, with encouragement rather than pressure, so they enter Year 1 with high levels of attainment and a real excitement in their learning. An engaging and independent curriculum, in conjunction with our rigorous academic standards and high expectations, enables pupils to meet and exceed their potential.
