Participation in co-curricular music encourages the development of social awareness, team building and leadership skills as well as offering opportunities for visiting new places and meeting new people. Purchase Of SCHS iPad

At Streatham and Clapham High School we have introduced a digital strategy that facilitates an any-time, any-place approach to learning. Our aim is to embed technology seamlessly in the learning experience; fostering independence, creativity and digital collaboration between pupils and staff. Therefore, we require all pupils in U3 to bring a properly configured iPad to school each day. This will ensure all pupils have a consistent experience when using digital technology in the classroom.

The school manages all girls’ educational devices centrally so that she has all required apps and software is installed by the school prior to your daughter starting in September, with new apps installed when required by your daughter’s teachers. The school also updates the operating system promptly, which is essential for the security of the device. Her iPad connects automatically to the school network which is subject to robust internet filtering, GDPR protection.

The spec for the SCHS U3 iPad is as follows:

  • 64 GB 10.2-inch iPad with warranty and three years insurance for accidental damage.
  • A case with a keyboard (The case is particularly important as it is required for the accidental damage insurance to be valid);
  • Stylus/pen.

Timing and Required Action:

  • Deposit £135 by 30 June followed by 3 monthly instalments of £135. Payments can be found under “Trips” alongside the Upper Third Residential.
  • We shall send you the link to our purchasing system (Pay360) shortly.
  • The deadline to pay your deposit is Thursday 30 June.

Girls bringing their own Ipad should please email Mrs Marriott at r.marriott@schs.gdst.net

The following will apply to girls using their own equipment

  • They will not be able to connect to the wireless network but will have to connect as guests
  • We will be unable to manage their iPads via the school management console. If an iPad is locked or lost, we will not be able to help locate or unlock the device.
  • The apps will not be downloaded via the management console but will need to be downloaded individually.
  • Printing will not be automatic but the girls will need to use the web printing service to print documents and access this service via a separate website.
