Pupils at Streatham & Clapham High School celebrate record-breaking GCSE Results 2025
Streatham & Clapham High School (SCHS) is delighted to announce its best-ever GCSE examination results (excluding the COVID years), with a remarkable 76% of all grades achieved at 9 – 7 (A* – A). These exceptional outcomes reflect the dedication and hard work of our pupils, supported by the commitment and expertise of our teachers.
This year’s cohort has excelled across the curriculum, with sharp year-on-year rises in the highest grades:
- Grade 9s increased from 17% to 24%
- Grade 9 – 8s rose from 37% to 54%
- Grade 9 – 7s rose from 61% to 76%
- Grade 9 – 6s rose from 82% to 90%
These results confirm SCHS’s reputation for academic excellence and highlight the broad and deep strengths of our students across both STEM and humanities subjects.
In the sciences, pupils achieved exceptional outcomes:
- Biology: 85% at grades 9 – 7
- Chemistry: 82% at grades 9 – 7
- Physics: 85% at grades 9 – 7
- Mathematics: 78% at grades 9 – 7
The humanities and languages also saw outstanding achievements:
- History: 83% at grades 9–7
- Geography: 84% at grades 9–7
- Chinese: 100% at grades 9–7
Commenting on this year’s record-breaking outcomes, Head Ms Cathy Ellott said:
“I am immensely proud of our superb GCSE results which are the best in the school’s history outside of the COVID years. They are an impressive testament to our girls’ resilience, intellectual curiosity and ambition, and to their teachers’ dedicated support. To see such significant increases across the highest grades, alongside excellence in both STEM and the humanities, is truly inspiring. We are determined that at Streatham & Clapham all subjects are girls’ subjects and our girls have demonstrated fantastic academic commitment, confidence and focus that will set them up so well for the future. We very much look forward to welcoming many of them into our flourishing Sixth Form, where they will continue to thrive.”
