At Streatham & Clapham Prep School (SCPS), we believe that good nutrition is crucial for young children’s growth, development and ability to learn. Our balanced and nutritious meals are prepared on-site, ensuring that every girl enjoys fresh, wholesome food. We cater to individual dietary needs and encourage healthy eating habits. By fostering a positive relationship with food from a young age, we help our girls develop lifelong healthy eating habits.

We provide a healthy fruit snack in the morning, while pupils bring their own snack for the afternoon. Each term, our Pupil Voice group reviews and discusses lunch and tuck shop options, and their feedback is shared with the catering team for menu adjustments. With our open kitchen design, pupils can observe cooking techniques and participate in food preparation, helping them develop a positive connection to food and nutrition while being actively involved in meal choices.

Each term, our Student Council meet with the Head Chef to review and discuss lunch and tuck options. The girls engage in taste-testing potential menu additions, allowing them to refine their palates and provide valuable feedback. With an open kitchen design, students observe proper cooking techniques and actively engage in menu selection and food preparation. This involvement fosters a strong foundation for a healthy relationship with food and nutrition, making them feel connected to what they eat.
