Our Sites

The Nursery and Prep school are located within a few minutes’ walk from Streatham Hill station. The Senior school and Sixth Form are located on a spacious four-acre site close to Tooting Bec Common between Balham and Streatham.

Both sites are easily accessible by public transport from many areas in central and south London as well by our extensive school minibus service. We are committed to being good neighbours and citizens and therefore encourage travel by sustainable and active transport (Tube, bicycle, bus or walking) as part of promoting a healthy lifestyle and environment.

The Prep and Senior schools are accessible via several local cycling routes, with dedicated bike lanes along main roads and quieter streets nearby for more relaxed journeys. We encourage cycling as a healthy, eco-friendly option and provide bike storage facilities on-site. Local Travel

SHS is conveniently accessible by London Transport, with numerous bus routes that serve areas close to the school. Popular nearby areas with bus services include Balham, Brixton, Clapham, Croydon, Earlsfield, Herne Hill, Mitcham, Tooting, and Vauxhall. Local bus routes include: Balham (315, 249), Brixton (109, 118, 133, 159, 250), Camberwell (59, 133, 159, 45), Clapham Junction (255, 219, 319, G1), Croydon (250, 109), Crystal Palace (249), Earlsfield (44, 77, 270, G1), Herne Hill (201), Mitcham (133, 57, 201), Thornton Heath (250, 109), Tulse Hill (P13), Tooting (G1, 57, 133), Upper Norwood (250) and Vauxhall (2, 77).

If you must drive to school, please remember to observe all road traffic markings, including double yellow and zig-zag lines which prohibit parking or stopping. SCHS is located in a residential area near Tooting Bec Common, so we ask that you minimise noise and avoid idling engines. Respect access to neighbouring properties and follow the one-way flow on Abbotswood Road, entering from Garrads Road. Use only the designated drop-off zone.
