Streatham & Clapham High School celebrates best A Level results in nearly a decade
Our Year 13 students have excelled themselves with the school’s best A Level results since 2017 (excluding the Covid years). A quarter of the girls gained all A*s and As with 42% of all grades at A* – A, up from 33% last year.
The number of A* – B grades increased to 75% (from 68% in 2025), and the girls have really done themselves proud. The cohort’s value-added score (measured against GCSE outcomes) is the second highest since 2017, showing the difference that the school’s ethos, support and wonderfully committed staff can make, so that girls excel even beyond their expectations.
Outstanding results across the curriculum
Art continues to be outstanding with 88% A* – A, and our smaller class sizes led to impressive results with 100% A* – A in Computer Science and Chinese. There were excellent performances too in History (69% A* – A), Politics (67% A* – A), French (67% A* – A), Geography (67% A* – A), and Religious Studies (63% A* – A).
Maths is our most popular subject, with 82% of grades awarded at A* – B, and 100% A* – B grades were achieved across eight subjects, opening doors to such a vast array of higher education opportunities.

The next step on their journey
As is the SCHS way, the girls are going on to do an impressive range of further education courses, very much following their passions and ambitions. From Music at Oxford, to Medicine at Newcastle, and Engineering Mathematics at Bristol, girls are heading off to university destinations across the country, including Birmingham, Bristol, East Anglia, Exeter, Leeds, LSE, Liverpool, Manchester, Nottingham, Sheffield and Southampton.
They are going on to study Law, History, Economics, Politics, International Relations, Psychology, Finance, Drama, Fashion Communication, Geography, Modern Languages, Linguistics and Chinese, Sports and Exercise Science, Product Design, Criminology, and one girl is even doing Aviation Operations and her commercial pilot training.
Head, Ms Cathy Ellott, says, “Our vision is to develop excellence in every pupil and to inspire thinkers who outperform their expectations, and today our Year 13 girls have shown exactly what that looks like. To record our strongest A Level results in nine years (excluding Covid) is a wonderful achievement, but what means most to me is that this year group made more progress from their starting points than any cohort in almost a decade. This is what happens when every girl is known and valued as an individual: she learns without limits and achieves ambitiously, beyond what she thought possible. I am enormously proud of them, and grateful to the talented and committed staff who have taught, challenged and championed them. Our girls leave us confident, resilient and accomplished, ready to face the future with curiosity and optimism, and I look forward to hearing all about their journeys and achievements.”
We are incredibly proud of the girls’ dedication, determination and ambition, and their wonderful results further demonstrate the school’s growing academic strength and its impressive trajectory, following on from last year’s record-breaking GCSE results.
