With access to the Unifrog tool, students can independently research universities, courses, and careers, further supported by regular one-on-one meetings with the Head of Futures & Aspirations.
Understanding that work experience is crucial for any post-18 application, we encourage our Sixth Formers to gain hands-on experience through placements. We support students in identifying and securing relevant opportunities, which allows them to explore their career interests, build self-confidence, and enrich their applications.
Through the Futures & Aspirations programme, students:
- Receive termly newsletters with work experience and insight day opportunities across various industries.
- Obtain guidance on cover letters, references, and interview preparation, as well as assessment centre practice.
- Are connected with known work experience providers to explore placements in their fields of interest.
- Complete at least one virtual and one in-person work experience day, offering varied industry insights.
In Year 13, students spend a day working within an industry related to their chosen university degree, giving them invaluable exposure and context for their studies.
