Our Charitable Status & Commitment to Public Benefit

Streatham & Clapham High School (SCHS) is proud to be part of the Girls’ Day School Trust (GDST), a charitable organisation dedicated to advancing the education of girls. As a registered charity, SCHS is committed to demonstrating public benefit, as required under the Charities Act 2011. We achieve this through a range of initiatives, including offering bursaries and scholarships, engaging in community outreach programmes, and sharing our resources and expertise with local schools and organisations. These efforts reflect our dedication to fostering positive change, not only within our school but also in the wider community we serve.

We are committed to building meaningful partnerships with local schools and the wider community. These collaborations not only enhance our educational offering but also provide our students with valuable opportunities to engage in leadership roles, competitive activities and shared learning experiences. As a proud member of the Southwark Schools’ Learning Partnership (SSLP), we are connected with 23 state and independent secondary schools across south London. This network enables our students to work collaboratively with staff and pupils from diverse backgrounds, fostering teamwork and broadening their perspectives.

We also maintain strong connections with local primary schools, organising activities that give our pupils the chance to take on leadership roles while sharing our resources and expertise. These initiatives help strengthen the relationship between our school and the community. Our subject-specific partnership programme is growing, offering collaborations in areas such as Music, Sport, Computing, Classics and English. We encourage our staff to explore partnership opportunities within their curriculum, further enriching the learning experience for all involved. Through these partnerships, we continue to foster a dynamic and supportive educational environment, preparing our students to thrive both within and beyond the classroom.
