This evening will introduce you to what makes the Streatham & Clapham Sixth Form such a distinctive and empowering place to study. You will hear directly from current Year 12 and 13 students about their experiences, the opportunities they have embraced, and the ways in which the Sixth Form has helped them grow both academically and personally.

We will also outline how our Futures and Aspirations programme expands in the Sixth Form, nurturing the independence, confidence, and intellectual curiosity that young women need to thrive in the world beyond school.

In addition, you will have the chance to learn more about the A Level subjects, which are not traditionally taught at GCSE: Sociology, Psychology, Politics, Economics, and Business Studies.

The Sixth Form at Streatham & Clapham High School is one of the most distinguished, innovative and exciting educational options available to bright young women in London. The SCHS Sixth Form occupies an RIBA award-winning facility with breath-taking views adjacent to Tooting Bec Common in the heart of one of the city’s most vibrant neighbourhoods. How does it work?

The evening will consist of speeches from the Head, the Deputy Head Academic, and the Director of Sixth Form in the Ellis Hall, followed by an opportunity to attend a series of short, subject-specific sessions led by SCHS teachers and Year 13 students in classrooms around the school, enabling you to explore and admire the key Sixth Form spaces. There will also be spaces where you can mingle and speak to key members of the wider Sixth Form community, such as the Head of Futures & Aspirations and the Head of PSHCE, as well as current Year 13 students.

Open Days

Prospective families are warmly invited to SCHS Open Mornings to explore the school’s facilities and meet staff and pupils. These events allow families to tour our facilities with a pupil guide, speak with the Senior Leadership Team, and listen to the Head’s Talk and a pupil panel. It’s a great opportunity to learn firsthand about our values, community ethos, and the supportive atmosphere that makes SCHS unique.

We hold our main open days on Saturdays during the Autumn term, with additional dates added to meet demand. Families interested in joining SCHS for the next academic year are also welcome at Spring and Summer term open days. These events provide insights into the school’s academic offerings, facilities, and values, allowing prospective families to explore SCHS at a convenient time across the year.

Our ‘Into the Sixth’ evening at Streatham & Clapham High School is designed for parents and students considering entry into the Sixth Form. Held in the Autumn term, this event offers a comprehensive overview of the academic and co-curricular opportunities available, with insights into A-Level subjects, university guidance, and leadership development. Parents have the chance to meet with the Director of Sixth Form, subject leaders, and current Sixth Form students, gaining a deeper understanding of the supportive, dynamic environment that prepares students for higher education and beyond.
Early Explorers (Prep School)

Early Explorers at Streatham & Clapham Prep School is an event for children aged 2-5 designed to introduce young learners to a fun, engaging educational environment. These sessions focus on exploration, creativity, and discovery, tailored to inspire curiosity in early childhood. Children can participate in interactive activities led by experienced specialist teachers, allowing them and their families to experience the nurturing and stimulating environment of SCHS.

Our Early Explorers sessions are typically held on Fridays.
Small Group Tours (Prep School)

A Small Group Tour at Streatham & Clapham Prep School offers prospective families a personalised visit to experience the school firsthand. Led by the Head of Prep, these tours provide an in-depth look at the school’s facilities, the engaging learning spaces, and the vibrant environment that supports pupil development. It’s an excellent opportunity to ask questions, understand the school’s ethos, and see how SCHS fosters a nurturing, inspiring atmosphere for young learners.

Our Small Group Tours are typically held on Wednesdays.
Taster Days (Prep School)

The 7+ Taster Day at Streatham & Clapham Prep School gives prospective pupils in Year 2 (aged 6) a feel for the Year 3 SCHS learning experience through engaging activities led by experienced teachers. Pupils can explore the school, meet classmates, and participate in fun, educational sessions that showcase the vibrant atmosphere of the Prep school. Refreshments are provided, and each child receives a goodie bag at the end of the morning. SCHS can also arrange minibus transport back to each child’s current school for added convenience.

Our 7+ Taster Day is typically held in the Autumn term.
