Futures & Aspirations

Our Futures & Aspirations programme is dedicated to empowering pupils to navigate their post-18 pathways with confidence and purpose. Recognised in the national Good Schools Guide report for the balance and relevance of our careers advice, the framework offers comprehensive support for each pupil’s unique journey. Through these initiatives, SCHS pupils are equipped to make informed choices about their futures, fostering ambition and clarity as they transition beyond school.

Lecture Series

Our regular lectures feature professionals from diverse fields such as law, finance, media and fashion, who share insights into their careers and industries.

Personalised Guidance

Pupils have access to the Unifrog platform for independent research on universities, courses and careers, complemented by regular one-to-one meetings with the Head of Futures & Aspirations.

Work Experience

From Year 8, pupils take part in Take Your Daughter to Work Day, offering an early insight into the world of work. As they progress through the school, we encourage Sixth Form students to gain in-person work experience opportunities, including dedicated early Year 13 within an industry related to their chosen university degree.

Higher Education Week

This intensive week within the Sixth Form focuses on post-Sixth Form pathways, offering sessions on personal statement writing, student finance, and cover letter preparation, along with university visits and talks on gap years and degree apprenticeships.
