We are delighted to announce that we have been ranked 92 in the best schools for sport in the country, following the publication of the prestigious School Sport Magazine’s Top 200 sporting schools of 2024!

The magazine lists the top schools in the country for sport and includes both state and independent schools in the rankings. The list is compiled using results from more than 20 different sports and over 120 different events. Reaching the top 100, puts SCHS in the top 2% of schools.

It has been an exceptional calendar year for sports at Streatham and Clapham High School, with teams across the school reaching regional and national finals across a whole spectrum of sports. This recognition is testament to the hard work and dedication of our amazing students and staff!

Here are some of our sporting successes during 2024:

–  The U14 gymnasts were crowned British Schools Gymnastics Champions

–  The U13 gymnasts triumphed to win the ISGA National Championship

–  The U12 netball team secured first place in the national final of the SistersnSport Competition

–  The U13A team came second in the Southeast Schools Touch Rugby Championships

– A Year 12 rower clinched the Gold Medal at the prestigious Ball Cup at Dorney Lake

–  Ten U12, U13, U14 and U15 girls were placed in the top three in the Lambeth Cross Country Championships

–  The Senior Hockey team won the GDST Hockey Rally

–  A Year 11 student was selected to represent Scotland at the ICC Women’s Under-19 T20 World Cup (which took place in January 2025)

If you are considering a school with a breadth of co-curricular activity for your daughter, please read our more about our Co-Curricular ethos, including our approach to sport.

Making the top 200 out of more than 4,000 schools means you have over-achieved on the competitive sporting circuit, winning or reaching the finals stages of national competitions.”
