At Streatham & Clapham High School, we take immense pride in our commitment to building partnerships that inspire, educate, and connect our pupils to the world beyond the classroom. This week, we were thrilled to welcome 42 students from Peking University School for a two-day cultural exchange, perfectly reflecting our ethos of fostering global citizenship and meaningful collaboration.

As recently announced, SCHS is the proud winner of the Independent School of the Year Award for Outstanding International Engagement! This accolade celebrates the impact of our partnerships, such as this exchange, in shaping well-rounded, socially aware, and globally connected young people.

The visiting students enjoyed a warm SCHS welcome with their day beginning in assembly, followed by a guided tour and a chance to bond with their SCHS buddies over juice and cookies. They joined lessons alongside our pupils, experiencing first-hand our vibrant learning environment.

At lunchtime, the students shared their rich cultural heritage by performing a traditional Chinese folk song during a talent exchange event – a touching moment that showcased the power of shared experiences. The day ended with our guests receiving special SCHS goodie bags, a small token of our appreciation for their visit.

At SCHS, we believe in the power of partnerships to broaden horizons and cultivate compassion. Exchanges like this not only enrich our pupils’ perspectives but also reaffirm our commitment to making a positive contribution to the wider community.
