At Streatham & Clapham High School, our Sixth Form artists are embracing the opportunity to experiment, innovate and develop their creative voices through hands-on, immersive projects. This term, our Year 12 A-Level Art students are diving into the world of large-scale sculpture, crafting expressive ceramic head sculptures inspired by legendary sculptors such as Jacob Epstein, Auguste Rodin and Franz Xaver Messerschmidt.
These workshops are more than just an exercise in technical skill. They encourage students to explore the intersection of form, emotion, and texture, fostering a deeper understanding of how art communicates powerful ideas and feelings. Through this process, students are challenged to think critically, engage with diverse artistic techniques, and express their individuality in tangible, impactful ways.
The programme reflects our holistic approach to A-Level Art, which prioritises both technical mastery and creative exploration. By working on ambitious projects like these, our students build confidence in their artistic abilities and develop a strong foundation for further study or careers in the arts.
Our Sixth Form offers a nurturing and stimulating environment where creativity flourishes. Our small class sizes, expert teaching, and access to outstanding facilities enable students to thrive as they prepare for the next stage of their artistic journey.
