Scholarships

All pupils are automatically considered for an academic scholarship at 11+; no separate application is required. We are unable to award scholarships to EYFS, Prep school applicants, or for chance vacancies in the Senior school. 

The Art Scholarship at Streatham & Clapham High School (SCHS) offers talented students the opportunity to develop their artistic abilities through exclusive workshops, events and challenges. Art Scholars participate in high-quality, scholar-specific workshops exploring a variety of materials and techniques, alongside events such as the Young Art Cancer Research Competition, the Royal Academy Young Artist Summer Show and visits to London galleries. Sixth Form students also benefit from life drawing classes.

Art Scholars are expected to be role models, inspiring their peers and the wider school community. They should demonstrate a strong interest in creative learning, approach artistic challenges with confidence, and actively contribute to lessons and school events. Scholars are encouraged to continuously develop their skills, visit galleries, and submit work for competitions.

To apply for an Art Scholarship, students must submit a separate application form and provide supporting materials, including sketchbooks showcasing their development and experimentation with different media. Applicants will also be assessed through an art scholarship assessment and, if shortlisted, interviewed by the Head of Art.

The Design, Technology, Engineering & Innovation Scholarship at Streatham & Clapham High School (SCHS) offers creative and curious students the opportunity to explore engineering and design in greater depth through specialist workshops, real-world challenges, and innovative thinking. Scholars benefit from access to high-quality resources, expert guidance, and exciting opportunities including collaborative projects and visits to exhibitions.

Design, Technology, Engineering & Innovation Scholars are expected to be role models who demonstrate passion, originality and problem-solving skills in the field of design and engineering. They should actively engage in lessons, take initiative in developing projects, and contribute to the creative ethos of the school by participating in STEM and STEAM-related events and initiatives.

To apply for a Design, Technology, Engineering & Innovation Scholarship, candidates must complete a separate application form and submit a portfolio showcasing their design ideas, prototypes, or past projects. Applicants will also take part in a practical scholarship assessment and, if shortlisted, be interviewed by the Head of Design Technology & Engineering.

This scholarship nurtures both technical and imaginative capabilities, supporting students on their journey to becoming future innovators. 

The Drama Scholarship at Streatham & Clapham High School (SCHS) is awarded to students who demonstrate exceptional talent or potential in drama. Scholars gain access to exclusive workshops, theatre trips, and termly school productions. They also serve as role models within the school, leading clubs and participating in performances. In addition to acting, Drama Scholars contribute to production teams and other drama-related activities, while developing their skills through regular sessions and performances.

To apply for a Drama Scholarship, students must submit a separate application form. Applicants must have been a member of a drama society for at least six months and provide evidence of three performances in the past three years. A completed application form with a personal statement is required, and relevant qualifications like LAMDA certificates are optional. Eligible applicants will attend a one-hour workshop, followed by a monologue performance from a published play for shortlisted candidates. Applicants will also be assessed through a drama scholarship assessment and, if shortlisted, interviewed by the Head of Drama.
