At SCHS, we believe in fostering a love of sport, teamwork and resilience, and our Year 6 hockey team embodied all of these values at their recent tournament. Competing against strong opposition, they secured two impressive victories (1-0 and 5-1) and showed great determination in a hard-fought 1-3 loss.

Beyond the scores, this tournament was a testament to the team’s commitment, skill and sportsmanship. Every player demonstrated hard work and perseverance, proving that success is about more than just results – it’s about growth, teamwork and learning from each game. Their outstanding effort has earned them a place in the U11 Surrey Hockey Finals and we couldn’t be prouder!

At SCHS, we see sport as an essential part of a well-rounded education. Our co-curricular ethos encourages pupils to challenge themselves, develop confidence and enjoy the many benefits of physical activity – whether they’re competing at county level or simply discovering a new passion.
