Our Bursary Process
We have a proud history of providing financial assistance towards school fees, ensuring that girls from all backgrounds are able to access a GDST education. If you are considering applying to Streatham & Clapham High School for Year 7 or Year 12 entry but are concerned about the affordability of school fees, we invite you to read this guide and discover more about the financial assistance opportunities available via the GDST bursary award scheme. Today, GDST is a leading provider of bursary provision in the UK with 10% of girls in its 22 independent senior schools from Year 7 through to Year 13 receiving financial support.
Bursary Parent
“The impact of being awarded a bursary has been life-changing for my daughter. My daughter was a quiet, shy person before she joined, but now she made so many friends, being involved with the school community (she is in the academic school council team), and participating in music events, as well as representing the school in some sport activities. SCHS’s fantastic education, together with wide range of co-curricular activities, are allowing my daughter to be able to achieve her full potential and find the areas which are her strength and build on them from early years. She always liked music, but at SCHS due to the numerous performance opportunities she managed to go up by three grades within a year, and is now preparing for her grade 8 exam. For us, to see her happy, and with a growing confidence, means the world.”

Year 8 Bursary Student
“My first year at SCHS has been amazing. The school has really nice people and a lot of new opportunities for everyone. I participated in some clubs, like drama club and athletics. I enjoyed playing hockey as well as being in multiple music ensembles, such as ACE (advance music ensemble) and orchestra. There were numerous opportunities to play solo performances at the school, no matter what level you are. I decided to play something different each and every time, which helped me to do my grades even faster. I was grade 5 when I started the year and now I’m preparing for my grade 8 saxophone exam. The older girls in the school are very kind and helpful, and the overall atmosphere is so friendly. I particularly like my Kinza sessions, especially my last one which is skateboarding. Really hard to pick a favourite subject, as they are all interesting, but probably my top three are: Chinese, computer science and maths. I’m particularly proud of being in the top set in maths. I’m so happy I can be part of the SCHS community”
