Nursery Admissions (3+ Entry)
We have 1 intake per year in September. In January and April we may have an occasional place.
When can I apply for a Nursery place for my daughter?
You are welcome to apply any time from birth until the relevant application deadline (please see below) for the term in which your daughter would join.
Places in our Reception are limited and girls from Streatham & Clapham Nursery are given priority in admissions.

What is the assessment process?
Although Streatham & Clapham Prep is an academically selective school, for Nursery applicants we focus on determining if your daughter is ready to join the selected intake and discuss the best options for her. The play-based assessment looks at her curiosity, communication and creativity and is used to prepare a tailored learning and development plan for her.
Upon receipt of your application, in the term before she would join us, we invite your daughter to attend a 45-minute play session. Tailored expertly to the age of your daughter, our Early Years Foundation experts will observe how she settles into the environment, what she is interested in, and how she interacts with other children.
By when do I need to accept my place?
After assessment we’ll provide feedback for you and confirm if we are offering your daughter a place for the next intake. In order to secure your place, we require a deposit of £1,000 within 2 weeks of the offer being made. Once the Nursery class is full (having reached 20 girls), applicants will be added to our waiting list.
How do I apply?
You’ll need the following to apply:
- A passport photo of your daughter as .jpg or .png (no more than 1MB)
- A copy of passport or birth certificate
- Payment card for £150 registration fee

Is there flexibility on which days my daughter attends nursery?
Some families choose to ease their daughters into the first stages of their pre-Reception foundation by having them attend part-time. We are happy to work with families to offer flexibility on the days their daughter attends, but all new Nursery places are charged for full-time fees.
The day runs from 8.30 am – 3.20 pm — you can view an example timetable on our curriculum page. We also offer flexible wrap-around care and transport to and from the school.
