Brand Guidelines

Our brand consists of a number of visual assets. In isolation they have individual meaning but together they create engaging and recognisable communications.

If you have any queries, please contact Director of Marketing & Communications, Diana Young on d.young@schs.gdst.net

Full Achievement

The Full Achievement (Crest) has been created by the Rouge Croix Pursuivant at the College of Arms, the official heraldic authority
These are the primary colours and preferred choice for reproducing our crest. Artwork for each version is available in CMYK and RGB formats. Special line versions have been created in Pantone, mono and reversed colour.

In certain circumstances the crest can also be used as a watermark device.

Logo — Lockup

The logo is made up of three elements, the crest, the namestyle, and the GDST lockup.

The crest has been created by the Rouge Croix Pursuivant at the College of Arms, the official heraldic authority.
The namestyle is a modified version of the classic British typeface Baskerville, featuring a hand-drawn leg on the letter R and custom EA and LA ligatures.

These are the primary colours and preferred choice for reproducing our crest. Artwork for each version is available in CMYK and RGB formats. Special line versions have been created in Pantone®, mono and reversed colour.

Following the re-branding of the GDST, all schools within the GDST umbrella have been asked to incorporate the new branding within their own school branding. This is known as the ‘GDST lockup’.

However, this co-branding does not need to happen in every instance. The general rule is that external-facing communications should have the ‘Lock-up’ but internal communications can use the existing logos without any need to co-brand.

Examples of external-facing communications would be the main sign at the school, a letter to a prospective parent, a school prospectus, an A4 advert taken out in a magazine, a business card.

Examples of internal-facing communications would be internal posters for events, internal notices, Tempo and Scherzo newsletters.

Colour

Colour is a valuable asset for brand identity. A brand gains recognition and builds familiarity through strong, confident and consistent use of colour.

Primary colours Senior Green is fundamental in representing the brand presence. Prep Purple is to be used as the main colour for the Prep School.
Secondary colours The secondary colours are used to complement the primary colours. Colours should be reproduced in CMYK or as Pantone® spot colours in lithographic printing.

CMYK values should be used for digital printing and RGB and Hex values should be used for all screen-based applications.

Background Colours

Background colours can be used on both printed and digital materials, and should be used in conjunction with the primary palette.

Each background colour should be used with its corresponding primary colour, for example Senior Green with Senior Background).

Examples of how they can be used are shown below.

Typography

Our primary typeface for headings is Calendas Plus and for text it is Cerebri Sans. This ensures we can create an appropriate and consistent look and feel for our various audiences.

Calendas Plus and Cerebri are to be used on all ‘designed’ communications. This is not a system font and must be purchased to ensure you adhere to existing licensing regulations and is available from:
