EPQ | Sixth Form | Streatham & Clapham High School

We encourage you to ask big and difficult questions.

Exploring the world through EPQ

The Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) is an independent project that carries UCAS points equivalent to half an A Level and is held in high esteem by universities.

The nature and title of the project is entirely your choice and can be in the form of a report, a scientific investigation or an artefact.

You are taught the skills that enable you to complete the project, such as research, referencing, report-writing, and presenting, and are given individual university-style supervisions by a member of staff. The rest is up to you!

Our Sixth Formers reflect the school’s focus on innovation. Recently Jemima Frame was awarded a top national science prize for her ground-breaking research into the diets of domestic cats.

Example EPQ Topics our girls have developed:

Animal agriculture and the environment
Architecture and empathy
Chinese culture in furniture design
Free speech in the UK
Propaganda and conflict
Themes of girlhood in cinema
The wealth gap and education
Use of psychedelics in psychotherapy

Leadership opportunities
