The foundation of the sixth-form experience, of course, is about pursuing an enriching academic programme through the study of three or four subjects in the Lower Sixth Form. However, as a SCHS Sixth Former, you will also benefit from an array of additional challenges and opportunities which deepen your outlook on the world around you at one of the best sixth forms in London.
You will be encouraged to widen your experiences and develop independently – both academically and personally. Working in smaller groups and studying in great depth, you can seize manifold opportunities readily to offer your opinions and thoughts.
“Pupils are adept and confident decision makers, secure in their knowledge that the school is a safe and encouraging environment.” — ISI Report, 2019
Because girls develop intellectually and socially earlier than boys of the same age, our girls are never held back from their aspirations or abilities. Buoyant, confident and unafraid to fail, our girls represent the true meaning of our motto ‘towards wisdom, unafraid’.
Girls in U5 (Year 11) of Streatham & Clapham High School are not required to submit an application form or submit a registration fee or deposit. During the course of the academic year, the Assistant Head Mistress (Sixth Form) will meet every U5 pupil with her parents to discuss her route into the Sixth Form, her A Level options and aspirations beyond formal study.
We encourage and welcome applications from external candidates. For further information please contact Mrs Janine Funsch, Registrar, Streatham & Clapham High School, 42 Abbotswood Road, London, SW16 1AW. Janine can be contacted on admissions@schs.gdst.net or 020 8677 8400.
