Last week’s whole-school production of School of Rock: The Musical was a huge success. The talented cast had the whole room rocking and literally dancing in the aisles, as the audience were encouraged to join the cast on the dance floor and rock-out during the finale.
‘We are so impressed by the depth of talent that has allowed us to have instruments played live on stage by the actors’
Ms Penny Thane-Woodhams Director of Drama
With over 80 students involved, both on stage and behind the scenes, plus a full pit band supporting the on-stage actors and musicians, School of Rock is the largest scale production the school has produced to date.
The entire cast brought energy and enthusiasm to the stage, from the ‘children’ in the class band, to the ‘teachers’ chorus and everyone in between. Everyone involved in the production should be immensely proud, with special mentions going to Hameedah (U5, below left), whose engaging portrayal of lovable-slacker Dewey Finn set a high standard, and Maddie (U6, below right), for her incredible solos as uptight Head Teacher Mrs Mullens.
