Year 6 girls compete with over 20 schools at GDST Maths Conference, using grime dice!

Six of our Y6 girls were chosen to attend the annual GDST Maths Conference, a fun and interactive day with 20+ GDST schools taking part. Girls worked in pairs as part of teams with other schools, on a group task in the morning and a quiz in the afternoon. This year the focus was on probability and the girls had experience of using non-transitive dice or ‘Grime Dice’. These are unusual dice (with values other than the usual 1-6) and one challenge was working out which dice would give the highest score over several possible throws.
