In Conversation with… Professor Nicola Rollock

We are delighted to invite parents and pupils to join us for a fascinating interview with one of our most prominent alumnae, Professor Nicola Rollock. Professor Rollock (Class of 1992) is an academic specialising in issues of racial justice in education and will be speaking with Mrs Potter at 6.00 pm on Thursday 4 November in a live online event streamed to SCHS pupils, parents, and staff, as well as alumnae from Streatham & Clapham and across the GDST.

Nicola was recently appointed Professor of Social Policy & Race at King’s College London and is Senior Adviser on Race to the Vice Chancellor of the University of Cambridge. The more eagle eyed among you may have seen her in the 2020 BAFTA award-winning documentary, ‘The School that tried to end Racism’ and, as if that wasn’t enough, she was even a finalist in this year’s GDST Alumna of the Year!

Mrs Potter will be speaking to Nicola about her academic career, her important consultancy work with bodies such as the Home Affairs Select Committee and the Wellcome Trust, and how her time at SCHS prepared her for academic life.
