Upper School Shine in Smash-Hit Performance

Last term, the cast of the Upper School Production, Second Person Narrative by Jemma Kennedy, were showered in rapturous applause following two sell-out nights. Second Person Narrative is the story of ‘You’ – You are born, You grow up, You die – exploring how You establish your identity along the way. Written for ensembles, the play is designed to facilitate discussions on how our experiences shape our lives.

A collaborative effort, more than 40 girls across the Fifth and Sixth Forms came together to showcase their talents as actors, designers, theatre technicians and directors. Silvia (L5), Lucy (L5), Maddie (L5) and Poppy (L6) captivated the audience with their moving and dynamic portrayals of ‘You’. The slick production, directed by Ms Thane-Woodhams and assistant directed by Maddie (U5), took place on an impressive revolving stage, featuring three different sets.  Thanks to the blue and purple hues of our professional stage lights together with costumes designed and created by Ms Tabrizi and her Kinza pupils, the audience enjoyed a rich and textured experience .

‘This is the fifth play I have seen here’ commented one parent.  ‘I am always blown away.’
