Author and journalist Chine McDonald spoke at the Senior School about her career, including how she learnt to navigate racism and misogyny in journalism, a predominantly white-male industry.

‘It was inspirational to hear. Her resilience and strength, from being
told she couldn’t make it far in journalism because she was a black
woman, to her attending meetings at Downing Street, was admirable.’
     Kinzah (L5)

Ms McDonald generously led three events with the Senior School girls. With U3 and Fourth Form, she gave a talk focusing on ‘ambition, acceptance and allyship’. In her address to the Fifth and Sixth Forms she tackled how to ‘navigate the world in an age of misogynoir’. The author and journalist also sat down with SCHS’s Black & Asian Society for a more informal Q&A and chat.
