Even though the music venues are shut, that did not stop our pupils bringing the famous Streatham Hideaway Club to SCHS. The pupils, yet again, have raised the bar, recreating the atmosphere of the Hideaway Club and the joyous celebration of talent that we always see.

We were treated to a huge variety of music, including Gershwin, Muse, Queen and even two original songs. The girls were also able to perform with a live band, which included members of our Visiting Music Staff, and they did so with real professionalism. Chamber Choir, Swing Band, Schola Cantorum and Metrophonics filled the newly refurbished Recital Hall with the exuberant sound of music-making. It was such a joy to see the girls across the school, U3 – U6 being able to perform towards a collaborative event in the current circumstances of Covid. We hope you enjoy the show as much as we enjoyed making it!

Earlier last week, our scholars were given a special concert by one of our celebrated alumnae, the highly regarded soprano Elizabeth Llewellyn, accompanied by the sensational professional pianist Simon Lepper. Meanwhile at the Prep, preparations are underway for a month of musical and theatrical activity including the Year 6 Concert, Year 1 and 2 Production and the virtual Nativity performance.”
