In addition to our extensive enrichment programme Kinza, and co-curricular clubs and societies, girls also have the option of taking part in further music tuition and dramatic performance lessons (LAMDA).
Musical Instrument and/or Singing Tuition
We are delighted to offer pupils the opportunity to learn a musical instrument or take singing lessons. Lessons are delivered by a team of visiting teachers. Pupils follow a structured course in technique and repertoire developing their confidence as performers. Learning an instrument or taking singing lessons brings with it a host of additional benefits, including the development of self-esteem, communication skills, co-ordination skills and self-discipline. Participation in co-curricular music encourages the development of social awareness, team building and leadership skills as well as offering opportunities for visiting new places and meeting new people. If you would like your daughter to take instrumental/singing lessons at school, please complete the form by Tuesday 14 September via the link below. The following options are available:
30-minute lessons run though the school day on a rolling timetable (the rolling timetable avoids students missing the same lesson each week). Over two and a half terms (25 lessons), tutorials will explore all areas of drama, presentation and performance whilst working towards entering students for LAMDA exams, which will take place midway through the summer term. Students can choose Acting Exams or Public speaking Exams. Exams include – Group Acting /Acting Duolouge exams/Combo exams – Grade 3 – 5. Advanced grades -Bronze, Silver and Gold Medal exams are available for students who have achieved LAMDA Grade 5.
Places are allocated on a first come, first served basis. Act operate an a waiting list system. You will be sent an email confirming your daughter’s place which will include an invoice for the yearly fee of £375.
