SCHS alumnae Ellie Boyle (Class of 2011, above left) and Lizzie Nightingale (Class of 2011, above right) have been firm friends ever since they met at school, and last month, they published their first ever children’s book together.

Poseidon’s Plastic Problem is set under the sea, and tells the tale of Poseidon’s struggle to deal with the plastic pollution engulfing his kingdom. Written in rhyme by Ellie, and with original illustrations by Lizzie, the book is a gentle and fun way to introduce children aged two to five years concepts around reducing, reusing and recycling. The pair were looking for a creative outlet alongside their full time jobs, and wanted to create something for kids that had an important message. Poseidon’s Plastic Problem is now available to order on Amazon in both paperback and kindle.
