The girls and their families decorated their homes in red, white and blue and held ‘stay-at-home street parties’, celebrating the occasion by having picnic-style afternoon tea in their gardens.

Kudos to Maddy (L4, Knights) and her family for their extraordinary community contribution and spirit-lifting VE Day celebrations!  The Sequeira family strapped a pair of speakers to their pick-up truck, creating a stage for opera singer Arwel Treharne Morgan, to bring cheer (and cupcakes!) to so many local people, including staff and patients at St George’s Critical Care Ward and three local nursing homes.

In addition to the events of VE Day, Maddy has been tirelessly volunteering with Age UK, supporting Earlsfield Foodbank, Critical Care professionals at St. George’s (including SCHS alumna parent Anthea Allen), and CriticalNHS as well as special endeavours for Trinity Hospice on International Nurses Day.  Well done, Maddy!
