Modern Foreign Language Society

The Sixth Form Modern Foreign Language (MFL) Society meet regularly to discuss various foreign affairs and culture. Recently, they watched ‘Todo Sobre Mi Madre’ (All About My Mother) written and directed by Pedro Almodóvar in 1999. The critically-acclaimed film charts a mother’s griefs after her son is killed in a car accident, exploring the injustices experienced by LGBTQIA+ community and the solidarity between women in a patriarchal Spanish society.
MFL Society ‘Gives me the opportunity to develop my Spanish analytical skills, especially surrounding Almodóvar’s most acclaimed work, which perfectly balances aspects of paradoxical sisterhood with comedy and melodrama’ – Tegan (U6)
