Creativity and curiosity abound across biology, chemistry and physics this week, with the girls exploring the world around them through the sciences in a range of ways from botany to the solar system |

The Biology department has been encouraging girls to engage with the new topic of Photosynthesis by setting some practical work at home. Pupils have been germinating beans to observe root growth, making ‘plant mazes’ from shoe boxes to investigate how plants grow in response to a light source (phototropism) and have been covering leaves of houseplants with kitchen foil to record colour changes when leaves are deprived of light for different amounts of time. |
